Thinking about starting up your own IT venture business one day? “Techpreneurs” wanted!
Compress what others take years to learn on their own into a few months with experienced founders who have been there before. Work in a kiwi start-up with strong international IP, to build some seriously cool consumer & professional web-based interfaces and databases for the huge Health ICT market.
It is time to build out the live version of our Japanese demo in New Zealand – a Lifetime Health Diary® for individuals. It is highly innovative, recently receiving patent in New Zealand and Russia, and patent-pending in 50 more nations. It has the potential to solve some big problems in health and medicine by interfacing individuals (“the front end”) into potentially the entire continuum of medical providers (“the back end”) via an easy-to-use interface, a proprietary health scoring system that turns the individual’s inputs into clinical data, and an optional clinic-grade interface for health professionals to interpret it more fully.
Our chief software architect is one of the top IT security and system design/architecture experts in Japan – you will have the chance to learn from him directly, as well as work alongside our experienced NZ head of development. You will work with their guidance to help develop the live version of our product, adjusting it to the New Zealand marketplace. If the product works as anticipated, it will then be leveraged globally, with matching task and career opportunities for those who add value to the build.
A brief overview of the system is at www.LifetimeHealthDiary.com
Contact: Hamish MacDonald (Co-Founder, very recently returned to NZ for this build after 17 years in overseas ventures and marketing).
Internship 1
AJAX and/or web DB development.
Prepare our Japanese local-machine prototype for live use in a NZ context. (The AJAX and Postgres DB code is documented in English -- some
framework experience {e.g. Rails, JRuby, etc} would be a plus but not a deal breaker). Map out our system structure in a way that will
allow development teams of our future global partners to quickly grasp its scope and functionality. The local demo has 56 tables of user
interface, and 16 tables of database, all waiting to be adjusted and applied and to NZ conditions and used live in the market. Your chance to
learn and do from A through Z about product development on the web.
What skills will you learn?
* You will learn dev tricks, strategies and gain experience that will take years off what it would normally take to learn the ropes about doing an IT start-up properly.
* You will have the chance to make connections in the entrepreneurial IT Dev world (internationally) and jump-start your reputation.
* You will learn the business of software from the experienced Co-Founder, and observe how sales and marketing informs back-end development and vice-versa.
* You will plunge straight to the heart of web-based Health ICT applications, a growing area for at least the next 20 years.
* Flexible hours to work around your own schedule.
* If you are providing value for the company after an agreed time period, we will give you stock options to make sure you want to stick around! And yes, this can lead to full-time work.
* And if while working for the team you come across a promising new application that can turn into a stand-alone business that also contributes to our core business, we will back you in your own spin-out.
We are experienced, serious and very ambitious on a global scale. If this sounds like the kind of environment where you can learn how the rubber
really hits the road in an IT venture, let’s talk!
